10.4 Filtering Defects

latest update: 2021-06-17

Filtering operations are all included in the right-hand pane “FILTER”. You can see different choices of rules and standards and risk types in the filter pane. The total number of defects in the selected categories is listed above the detailed list.

Rules are automatically categorized into high, medium and low depending on the risk category.

The filters are dynamic and when set then the scan table will reflect the settings in the filter. For example, if you click CERT under Rules & Standards then all the numbers under RISK TYPE in the filter will refer to CERT related issues, and all the issues displayed in the table will be CERT issues.

Xcalscan allows you to choose whether to include possible defects. Possible defects refer to those defects that cannot be confirmed as ‘definite’. This is because the source in the trace path is only available for analysis during runtime. Setting to include shows the total number of defects including the possible defects and these are then included in the filter totals and the scan results.

10.4.1 Filtering by Project Folders

Click the dropdown list of “VIEW ALL FOLDERS” and click “SELECTED FOLDERS”. A pop-up window will open to allow you to select folders. Multiple folder selections are supported. After selecting the folder(s), click “APPLY” to filter the defects list. The defect result list will only display defects located in the folders you selected.
