11.6 Trace Path & Source Code – Clicking on ALL PATHS

latest update: 2021-06-15

When Xcalscan reveals a defect with multiple paths, it is indicated on the scan results summary page with a number greater than 1 in the paths column. Upon drilling down to the details page you will be offered to view ALL PATHS instead of FULL PATH.

Clicking on ALL PATHS reveals a high-level navigation path of the trace of the defect through the code. You can see an example below. When you hover the mouse over a path, it will turn red. When you click the path, a new tab will open to display the detailed execution steps for this path.

Mouseover enables you to view the line number for each step and reveals any comments for the respective step. Highlighting a trace path will turn the path to red and allows you to click through and a new tab will open to show the FULL PATH view of that path. You can navigate back to the ALL PATHS tab and open additional tabs so that you can view multiple full paths simultaneously.

You can assign a defect at any time in the FULL PATHS or ALL PATHS view.
